BBC Scotland to air Scotland’s rugby internationals
July 1, 2024
BBC Scotland will have full live television coverage of the South American matches from Scotland’s Skyscanner Americas Tour this July. The games against Chile and Uruguay will be shown live free-to-air on the BBC Scotland channel as part of an agreement between Scottish Rugby and TNT Sports.
Scotland return to Chile to play at Estadio Nacional, Santiago on July 20th, where Scotland A won 45-5 two years ago. The tour finishes in Uruguay at Estadio Charrúa, Montevideo, on July 27th, which will be the first time the two sides have played each other since the 1999 Rugby World Cup when Scotland won 43-12.
Louise Thornton, Head of Commissioning, BBC Scotland, commented: “We’re delighted to be featuring live coverage of Scotland’s matches in the South American leg of the tour, as this year’s exceptional summer of sport continues. Reaching agreement for the live rights of the matches against Chile and Uruguay is a boost for our audiences and another great addition to our portfolio of live sport.”
TNT Sports will have live coverage of all the matches on the four-match tour which begins in North America. Scotland face Canada in Ottawa July 6th before travelling to Washington DC to play USA on July 12th.
