December 12, 2023
From David Del Valle in Madrid

SVoD service Max may be available on Movistar Plus and Orange in the near future as Vodafone Spain’s exclusive deal expires on December 31st.
Until now, Vodafone Spain had an exclusive deal that allowed it to integrate the service in its offer. The signing of a new agreement, non-exclusive, until 2026 opens the door for Movistar and Orange to negotiate possible distribution of the service on their platforms.
From January 2024, according to online newspaper The Objective, Warner Bros Discovery, owner of Max, will be able to negotiate with other platforms to increase its distribution significantly, from the current 1.4 million Vodafone subscribers up to 3.4 million Movistar Plus subscribers.
