Azerbaijani Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Rashad Nabiyev, has met with Elon Musk at the Tesla Giga factory in Austin, Texas. The two discussed the opening up of Azerbaijan for Starlink broadband equipment as well as launches of Azerbaijani satellites on SpaceX rockets.
On May 9th Azercosmos announced that it has entered into an agreement with SpaceX for Azercosmos to be a reseller of the Starlink satellite based high-speed, low-latency broadband internet in Azerbaijan.
Starlink user terminals have already been successfully tested in Azerbaijan by Azercosmos. Starlink satellite internet services will be accessible at sea, on land, by railways and other transport lines, as well as at work and information centres in remote areas and areas without sufficient Internet coverage.
