Study: Heartstopper best SVoD release of 2022

A Uswitch study has revealed the most popular streaming releases of 2022, and Netflix dominates the rankings, with Heartstopper, The Last Kingdom and Cheer ranking top.
The study by analysed audience reviews, critic ratings, and online popularity for Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video 2022 original titles, to reveal the UK’s most popular streaming releases from the last year.

British romantic comedy-drama Heartstopper ranks as the most popular streaming release in 2022. The show has received wide critical acclaim, specifically for its tone, pacing, and representation of LGBTQ+ communities.
The second most popular release was The Last Kingdom; the fifth installment of the British historical fiction series obtained a significant Rotten Tomatoes rating of 91 per cent. American sport television docuseries, Cheer, ranks as the third most popular streaming release in 2022. The show aims to capture what it really takes to be a cheerleader in the modern world and is a hit among viewers.
