Spain: 5G licences half price
December 19, 2022
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Spain is preparing to hold its latest 5G public auction in the 26GHz band for a starting price of €56 million – a 50 per cent reduction on the initial price of €127 million.
The public auction has attracted little interest amongst operators as their investment capacity has been hit by the low-cost wars and the immaturity of 5G technology.
Operators had asked the Administration to postpone the auction until 2023, but the auction will go ahead on December 22nd with the new discounts in an attempt to entice bidders.
