Portuguese media group Media Capital has rolled out its streaming platform, TVI Player, to subscribers of the four main telecom operators in Portugal.
The dedicated TVI Player app has been added to the set-top boxes of Meo (Altice Portugal), NOS, Vodafone Portugal and Nowo.
All content on the OTT service is available throughout Portugal at no additional cost.
TVI Player provides access to programming of national commercial channel TVI, in addition to thematic channels CNN Portugal, TVI Ficção, and TVI Reality, plus content available exclusively online.
The distribution deal with the four operators was preceded by improvements in the interface, browsing experience and access speed. Launched in 2015, the TVI Player allows users to watch live and on demand programmes.
Last year, the platform averaged one million accesses per month, via PC, mobile app, Android TV and Apple TV.
