CBS Sports HQ deploys PORTL holoportation
February 10, 2022
CBS Sports HQ is using PORTL to beam players, coaches and other VIP guests from Radio Row to the hosts for interviews at its rooftop desk overlooking Los Angeles. It is the first time the holoportation device has been used in a sports broadcast.
PORTL allows people to be beamed anywhere, for life-sized interactions in 4K. The device has been used by stars like P. Diddy and Migos, as well as athletes like Usain Bolt and Lewis Hamilton. Among NFL stars, Marshawn Lynch and Robert Griffin III are investors in PORTL, as well as the LA Rams’ Sony Michel and Bengals’ Vonn Bell.
CBS Sports HQ is a 24/7 streaming sports network that offers news, highlights and analysis, easily accessible for free on connected devices. The digital network, which allows sports fans to watch full-day, live, anchored coverage featuring game breakdowns and the day’s top sports storylines, is part of CBS Sports Digital.
