Beyond signs content deal with VA Media
October 22, 2020
VA Media has announced an extension of its partnership with Beyond Rights to provide distribution and copyright services for YouTube.
VA Media is a global shopfront for independent content owners to easily commercialise their catalogues in social environments such as YouTube, Facebook and other AVOD platforms. In addition, VA Media operates a portfolio of popular global movie and television genre channels on YouTube, generating over 300 million views on average per month.
Beyond Rights first signed with VA Media to commercialise their extensive library of longform television content not currently under license to linear TV networks. Under this arrangement, Beyond Rights also accessed VA Media’s Content ID service to protect IP on YouTube.
The renewal was confirmed after VA Media generated significant global revenues from the partnership. Through the expanded agreement, VA Media will immediately activate strategic distribution through their proprietary model, monetising Beyond Rights broad catalogue of popular content via YouTube.
Mark Ashbridge, VA Media’s Managing Director said: “We’re thrilled to again be working with Beyond Rights to extend global reach of their content library. Global audiences have a growing appetite for content consumption outside of traditional channels and we look forward to capitalising on these opportunities.”
Katy Llewellyn-Jones, Beyond Rights CEO said: “Unlocking access to our vast catalogue of content to audiences globally, while protecting the IP, continues to be a priority for Beyond Rights. We look forward to continuing our relationship with VA Media alongside our growing catalogue.”
