Peacock orders Fresh Prince reboot

US streaming service Peacock has ordered two seasons of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot.
Original lead star Will Smith confirmed the news on his YouTube channel, commenting: “We have just officially closed the deal with Peacock with an unprecedented two-season-order from a pitch.”
The series, with the title now shortened to just Bel-Air. will be a serialised one-hour drama version of the ’90s sitcom, following the lead character’s move from West Philadelphia to the very different community of Bel-Air, and be exclusively available on the NBCUniversal streaming platform on a date TBC.
The original Fresh Prince of Bel-Air series ran for 148 episodes between 1990 and 1996, and launched Smith into Hollywood stardom.
