March 23, 2020
ViacomCBS Networks International and Sky have announced a multi-year deal in German-speaking markets. As a result of this new agreement, Nick Jr and NickToons content will now be available to Sky customers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, giving them access to popular kids’ shows such as PAW Patrol and SpongeBob SquarePants.
Nick Jr and Nicktoons linear channels will be added to Sky’s portfolio alongside an extensive package of VoD content, including over 900 episodes from the Nickelodeon and Nick Jr library.
Raffaele Annecchino, President, ViacomCBS Networks EMEA and Asia, commented: “We’re delighted to extend our partnership with Sky and offer Nick Jr. and NickToons fans in the GSA region their favorite shows on Sky platforms. With robust collaborations already in place in the UK and Italy, we truly value our partnership with Sky and are excited to be able to deliver premium kids’ content, both linear and on-demand, to more families in these regions.”
Manuel Kindervater, Vice President Partner Channels/Strategy at Sky Germany, added: “With the brands of Nickelodeon, we perfectly expand the strong Sky family portfolio. We are pleased that families will be able to enjoy the diverse programme of Nick Jr and NickToons with Sky and Sky Ticket from April; anytime linear or on-demand”.
The agreement further broadens and strengthens the long-standing relationship between ViacomCBS and Sky across Europe, with Sky already distributing ViacomCBS’ TV networks and content and selling advertising across its portfolio of channels in the UK and Italy.
