Japanese technology conglomerate Mitsubishi Electric Corp has completed work on an all-new satellite production factory in Kamakura, Japan.
Mitsubishi says the new floor space will permit it to increase production to about 18 satellites annually, up from about 10 currently. The company says the increased output will satisfy local demand and commercial communications craft fort its international customers.
Additionally, the new factory will improve production efficiencies, reduce costs and improve quality.
Mitsubishi is already a well-known name internationally and its most recent non-Japanese order came from Qatar’s Es’hailSat for its second satellite.
