Star Wars IX already breaking box office records

A new first-hour box office sales record has been set by Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
The trailer for Episode IX of the epic space saga went live in the early hours of October 22nd and, according to US cinema ticket site Atom Tickets, the movie shifted 45 per cent more tickets that Avengers: Endgame, the previous record holder, in its opening hours of pre-sale.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which is the final movie in the episodic chronicle, is set to smash a multitude of records when it’s released in cinemas on December 19th.
The trailer clocked some 5 million views within 10 hours on the official Star Wars YouTube channel.
