Vodafone Spain triples losses
September 16, 2019
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Vodafone Spain more than tripled its losses in its last fiscal year, April 2018-March 2019, to €601 million from €180 million in the previous year.
Total revenues fell to €4.6 billion, a 5.5 per cent decrease, with its EBITDA down €533 million, double the previous year.
According to the company, these results are due to “the repositioning of prices made in May 2018, aimed at gaining competitiveness, and the decision not to renew the rights of football because of its lack of profitability.”
In the last fiscal year, Vodafone Spain lost 115,000 mobile customers, 123,000 fixed broadband customers and 49,000 pay-TV subscribers.
