DAZN brings FIBA World Cup to 3 markets

DAZN, the sports streaming service, has landed the exclusive rights to this year’s FIBA Basketball World Cup in two markets – Japan and Canada. DAZN has also secured non-exclusive rights to the tournament in Spain.
Hosted by China for the first time, in its 18th edition, this World Cup will be played in eight cities across 5 provinces. Over 16 days there will be 92 games of action-packed basketball, having 32 teams compete for the first time in the history of the tournament. The FIBA Basketball World Cup begins on August 31st with Angola and Serbia tipping off proceedings in Foshan and will conclude in Beijing on September 15th.
