Sky launches Sky Broadband Ultrafast
August 20, 2019
Sky has announced the launch of its all-new broadband offering, Sky Broadband Ultrafast, which gives UK households access to over 12 times faster speeds than Sky’s standard broadband, with average download speeds of 145Mbps and 285Mbps – depending on which product is chosen.
Sky Broadband Ultrafast has been developed to address households’ ever-growing connectivity needs. With ultrafast speeds, a household could download a HD movie to a tablet in minutes, stream TV shows in 4K or high-quality music from a smartphone to a smart speaker, play the latest online games with real and virtual friends, all while browsing the web.
Over 2 million UK homes will have access to Sky Broadband Ultrafast. Sky Broadband Ultrafast 1, with average download speeds of 145Mbps, is priced at just £39 a month for 18 months.
“Fast and reliable broadband is an essential part of the family household today, and it’s only going to get more important in future” comments Kathryn Imrie, Director of Broadband at Sky. “We want our customers to be able to do even more online, on more devices, without seeing their connection lag or drop. As a Sky Broadband Ultrafast customer, you will be able to seamlessly watch an HD movie, while your partner surfs the web and your kids are gaming in their bedroom.”
More than 1.2 million households will also have access to even faster speeds with Sky Broadband Ultrafast 2, offering average download speeds of 285Mbps, priced at £49 a month.
Availability for both Sky Broadband Ultrafast 1 and Ultrafast 2 will continue to roll out across the UK throughout 2019 and 2020.
