Vodafone to replace Horizon TV
July 23, 2019
Vodafone will soon replace the Horizon TV platform with one of its own products after the closing of the deal to take over Unitymedia.
Alexander Leinhos, head of external communications at Vodafone Germany, confirmed the news in an interview with Digital fernsehen.
The product replacing Horizon TV could tentatively be the GigaTV, Vodafone’s platform offering OTT and VoD content. The service is available via smartphones and tablet apps, and through an Ultra HD Android box.
Leinhos said that the company will develop a plan for an integrated organisation with the works councils after the deal closes. The HQ, and its 5,000 staff, will remain in Dusseldorf.
