Home and Away facing cancellation

After over 30 years on TV, Australian soap opera Home and Away could be facing the axe.
Reports blame the unpopular time slot on Australia’s Channel Seven for the show’s decline, as well as a number of increasingly popular reality shows, such as Married At First Sight which airs on a rival channel. Channel Seven is reportedly ‘under pressure’ to make changes to its scheduling, but could choose to just end the show altogether.
Home and Away has become the second longest-running drama series in Australian television history, after Neighbours, and has been sold to over eighty countries around the world.
In the UK, the show first aired in 1989 on ITV before moving to Channel 5 in 2000.
