Spain: ARPU in convergent packages decreases

The average expenditure in convergent packages in Spain went down in the 4th quarter of 2018, according to the Panel de Hogares report from the CNMC.
The average revenue per user (ARPU) in quadplay packages ended 2018 at €51.4 versus €53 at the end of 2017 and €52 in the third quarter. In convergent packages with 5 services the expenditure fell from €79 at the end of 2017 and €79.1 in the third quarter of 2018 to €78.3 at the end of 2018.
Pay-TV penetration continued growing reaching 35.6 per cent of homes versus 33 per cent the previous year. Spaniards prefer convergent services with 44.8 per cent of homes enjoying a combined package. FTTH is present in 55 per cent of all homes.
