Barcroft appoints Farrar
June 24, 2019
Barcroft Studios has named John Farrar, co-founder Nerd TV, as its creative director.
Farrar co-founded prod-co Nerd TV with Jago Lee and Charlie Parsons in 2010, and two years later the company was sold to Red Arrow Studios. As Nerd TV’s creative director, Farrar was behind shows such as 12-Year-Old Lifer for Channel 4, Man v Viral for National Geographic and My Selfie Life for Fusion. Previously, he was head of development at Raw TV, where he developed The Imposter, and held senior producer roles at Talkback Thames and Tiger Aspect.
Additionally, Barcroft Studios has promoted Alex Morri to chief creative officer, and former managing director Caspar Norman has been named chief operating officer.
Farrar commented: “I am beyond thrilled to join Sam and the team at Barcroft Studios; a company dedicated to intelligent and provocative storytelling backed with journalistic rigour. Barcroft Studios are the epitome of the modern production company—nimble, mischievous and finely tuned to the needs of a constantly evolving media landscape. The chance to join them at this pivotal time was irresistible.”
