Telefónica increases revenues and subs

Telefónica ended the first quarter with a net profit of €926 million, up 10.6 per cent on the same period last year.
The group reduced its debt by 5.7 per cent to €40.3 billion. OBITDA amounted to €4.26 billion, up 10.3 per cent. In Spain, it reported total revenues of €3.1 billion, up 0.3 per cent.
In terms of customers, Telefónica ended Q1 with 8.8 million pay-TV subscribers globally, up 3 per cent.
In Spain, it had 4.09 million subscribers, most of them with a convergent package. ARPU stood at €88.2.
The company has now passed FTTH through nearly all homes in Spain.
