Streaming sports service Eleven Sports has announced it has surpassed 100,000 subscriptions in Portugal. This is the first time it has provided numbers on its services subscriptions.
In a statement, the operator said it registered “impressive growth” after signing a distribution agreement with the country’s three largest pay-TV operators; Altice Portugal, NOS and Vodafone Portugal in February.
Eleven Sports was previously distributed only by Portugal’s smallest pay-TV platform Nowo.
The operator claims that at least 250,000 Portuguese have access to the premium sports content aired by its channels.
Eleven Sports Portugal began operating in August 2018 and, since then, has recorded consistent growth, mainly in the OTT Direct-to-Consumer segment, with more than 200,000 downloads of its app at the end of 2018.
