Report: UK video games market up 10%

Video game revenues saw record increases last year, with digital purchases now accounting for 50 per cent of all sales in the UK, according to the latest annual report from the Association for UK Interactive Entertainment (Ukie).
The total UK consumer spend last year increased by 10 per cent to £5.7 billion (€66.5bn), including everything from mobile games to console hardware sales. At the same time software sales increased 10.3 per cent and surpassed £4 billion for the first time – at £4.01 billion.
Games console sales were up 6.5 per cent to £702 million. Mobile game sales rose by 8.2 per cent to £1.17 billion.
