Movistar targets LatAm dominance with OTT

Spanish pay-TV operator Movistar is relying on its OTT platform Movistar Play to conquer the Latin American market and boost subscriptions.
The company has just launched its OTT platform in Mexico to compete head-on with the likes of AT&T and America Móvil.
With Movistar Play, the company aims to offer an added-value service to its 27.3 million customers in the country, including Netflix, via three different packages: Lite, Internacional and Premium.
Recently, Movistar launched its OTT platform in Argentina. Movistar Play in now present in seven Latin American countries reaching some one million customers: Brazil, Argentine, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Ecuador and Mexico.
