February 14, 2019
From David Del Vale in Madrid
Two months after the Netflix integration into Movistar, the streaming service is helping capture one out of every three new customers, according to data directly from Telefónica’s pay-TV platform in Spain.
Movistar has deemed the integration a “success”, since one third of new customers are also subscribing to Netflix, as well as 35 per cent of current customers who have added the service to their package.
Telefonica España CEO, María Jesús Almazor, said that “two leading platforms [providing] in-house and exclusive content turns this integration into an unbeatable proposal among the fiction fans”.
