Movistar, Telefónica’s pay-TV platform, hopes that the launch of Netflix in December will boost subscriptions in the final part of the year.
Netflix will feature in all Movistar Fusión packages. The streaming service will be integrated into the Movistar interface that will make recommendations and unify content with Movistar’s own in-house productions.
Angel Vilá, CEO of Movistar, said that a three-year strategic plan will be approved to boost the leadership of the company which currently has over 4 million subscribers and an ARPU of €89.2.
