Portugal: Eleven Sports streams Barca match on Facebook
October 19, 2018
Eleven Sports is set to deliver a La Liga first in Portugal this weekend when the sports provider live streams Barcelona v Sevilla on Facebook.
The move marks the first time that a La Liga match will be streamed live on Facebook in the country.
“Live streaming on social media is further evidence that we are bringing premium sport to fans everywhere in engaging and innovative ways.” said Pedro Mendonça Pinto, Non-Executive Director, Eleven Sports Portugal. “We want to reach every fan in Portugal and live streaming on social media makes our top-class properties much more accesible to the fans, while also helping Eleven reach new audiences.”
Globally, Eleven Sports is no stranger to streaming live football on Facebook. In the UK & Ireland one La Liga and Serie A match is shown every weekend. This week, Eleven Sports has been making headlines for flouting the UK Saturday afternoon football blackout.
Recent Bundesliga and La Liga matches have also been shown on the platform in Poland while Ligue 1 matches have been showcased in Belgium.
The Barcelona v Sevilla match kicks off at 7:45pm on October 20th at The Nou Camp.
