Vodafone Spain goes back on low cost promotions
October 4, 2018
From David Del Valle in Madrid
In a similar move to Movistar, Vodafone Spain has withdrawn its low cost promotion of an indefinite 50 per cent discount, one month after its launch.
The company launched the promotion in an attempt to retain its football pay-TV subscribers, but it has been a fiasco as Vodafone has continued losing subscribers (154,000 subscribers during the summer) and profitability.
Instead, now Vodafone has launched a 50 per cent discount promotion over the next three months, assuming though that its 350,000-400,000 football subscribers are likely to migrate to the other platforms, Movistar and Orange.
