Spain helps Colombia develop DTT
September 7, 2018
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Spain is helping Colombia implement DTT in the country through a consortium led by BAa Consultants with the Spanish company Gradiant as a technological hub and the University of Vigo.
This has been made possible thanks to an agreement between the European Union in Colombia, DECOL, and the National TV Authority in Colombia.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Spanish companies are providing technical assistance and training to the main DTT players in the country laying emphasis on regulation, content, DTT standards and equipment.
Colombia, along with Panama, French Guayana and Surinam, is one of the few territories in the Americas to adopt the European DTT standard.
