Spain’s La Liga has reached an agreement with Facebook to stream live football matches from the Spanish football league to eight Asian countries. All games will be available for free.
La Liga will receive €90 million to distribute the matches via Facebook Live to India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Maldivas, Nepal, Butan and Sri Lanka.
A total of 380 football matches per season will be offered by Facebook Live in Asia, in the first deal of this kind for La Liga and Facebook outside of the US.
In India there are over 350 million Facebook users with 50 million interested in football.
