Spanish TV group Mediapro will provide the VAR system (Video Assistance Referee) to the Football South American Confederation (CONMEBOL) for the main football competitions in 2018-2019 season. The games include Copa Libertadores, Recopa and Sudamericana as well as the American Cup in Brazil.

Mediapro is currently the VAR provider in football competitions in Spain, Portugal, Mexico and United Arab Emirates. The company is present in 35 countries with 53 production centres.
