Uber driver suspended for Twitch-streaming
July 24, 2018
An Uber and Lyft driver who streamed videos of his passengers online has been suspended from both car-sharing services.
Jason Gargac, of Missouri, USA, live-streamed passengers’ journeys – unbeknownst to them on most occasions – on video-sharing site Twitch, encouraging viewers to comment on their behaviour and appearance.
Local newspaper reports said passengers were seen kissing, vomiting and speaking candidly about relatives and work colleagues.
Gargac’s Twitch channel has now been suspended.
Uber has released a statement saying: “The troubling behaviour in the videos is not in line with our community guidelines. The driver’s access to the app has been removed while we evaluate his partnership with Uber.”
Lyft has also suspended Gargac.
