Spain: FTA most watched channels on pay-TV

Free-to-air TV channels are the most widely watched by viewers on pay-TV platforms in Spain.
A study from Mediaset reveals that an average of 67.9 per cent of pay-TV viewers watched FTA TV channels from January 1st to July 15th. In that period, TV consumption via pay-TV platforms amounted to 23 per cent of the country’s total TV viewing, with almost 70 per cent of it being FTA content.
In June, FTA channels on pay-TV platforms set a new record with a viewing share of 71.5 per cent. During the World Cup, pay-TV platforms had an audience share of 27.7 per cent, out of which 72.3 per cent viewed FTA channels.
