Comcast plans to sell off Fox Sports
July 10, 2018
Comcast is lining up potential buyers for the regional sports networks of 21st Century Fox according to reports.
A sale would ease competitive worries as the company weighs up another counterbid to Disney’s $71 billion deal to buy Fox’s media assets. It would also alleviate some financial concerns as the deal size keeps rising.
Comcast has been boosting its live sports content acquisitions, which remains popular with advertisers because large audiences watch the events in real time without being able to skip commercials.
