Euskaltel increases profits and subs

Euskaltel, the regional Basque country-based cable operator, is consolidating its leadership in the north of Spain with a 10.9 per cent rise in profits to €14.6 million and in Q1 2018.
The company made an EBITDA of €84.2 million, up 23.8 per cent, with total revenues amounting to €176.6 million, up 26.6 per cent.
Euskaltel -that includes R and Telecable- gained subscribers across all of its services with a penetration of 85.4 per cent in broadband, 78.9 per cent in mobile and 69.3 per cent in pay-TV.
The company gained 6,000 new pay TV clients in Q1 to a total of 400,000.
