India cuts transmission feeds for Reliance Big TV

Antrix, the commercial arm of India’s state-owned satellite operator ISRO, has cut off transmission signs to Reliance Big TV, citing non-payment of fees.
Reliance Big TV, which at best has the lowest market share of India’s ‘Big 5’ DTH players (of a maximum 5 per cent), is in a transition period being acquired on November 2017 from Anil Ambrani’s Reliance operation by the consortium of Pantel Technologies and Veecon Media.
Reliance was using satellite capacity from Malaysia’s Measat although under Indian rules it is obliged to contract for capacity, including that of non-Indian satellite operators, via Antrix.
