Sky Deutschland to air World Cup in 4K
April 4, 2018
Sky Deutschland has acquired the broadcast rights to show 25 games from this summer’s Football World Cup in Russia in UHD.
The deal struck with SportA, the sports rights agency of German public broadcasters ARD and ZDF, gives SkyD the exclusive right to a choice game live in UHD on all tournament days.
The live coverage will include all games of the German national team and other selected matches including the opening match, two quarter-finals, both semi-finals, the third place play-off and the final on.
The UHD games will be available to all Sky Deutschland subscribers who use the Sky+ Pro receiver and have a 4K TV set.
