Spain: OTT subs double in a year

OTT platforms are gaining momentum in Spain, having doubled the number of subscribers over the last year.
A report from AIMC (a Media Research Association) has revealed that the number of OTT subscribers has risen from 9.5 per cent of the country’s population in 2016 to 18.1 per cent at the end of 2017.
Some 28.7 per cent of OTT subscribers watch online TV on a daily basis (versus 8.2 per cent 4 years ago) and 54.7 per cent at least once a month.
The most used device to watch OTT is laptop computers (38.5 per cent) followed by mobile phones (33.1 per cent), smart TVs (30.9 per cent) and tablets (30.1 per cent).
