TivúSat adds Viacom channels
December 7, 2017
From Branislav Pekic in Rome
Italian free-to-air DTH platform TivúSat has further expanded its offer with two new channels from Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN).
The latest additions are VH-1, which airs music videos and classic TV series, while Spike is targetted at a male audience aged 25-54 years, broadcasting mainly entertainment programmes and reality shows.
Before launching on TivúSat, both channels were distributed in Italy via DTT. On the satellite platform, VH1 can be found on channel position 25, while Spike is on channel 26. This brings the number of Viacom’s channels on TivúSat to three, as Paramount Channel has been broadcasting since March 2016.
In additional news for TivúSat viewers; public broadcaster RAI will once again activate its Ultra HD channel (position 210) on December 12th. On this date, RAI 4K will air live the movie “Suspiria” from famed Italian horror director Dario Argento. The film has been restored in native 4K resolution on occasion of its 40th anniversary.
