Spain: FTTH passes the 6m mark

The development of FTTH in Spain is speeding up with more than 6 million lines following the 173,974 rise in September, according to the CNMC.
Movistar represented 54.5 per cent of the increase, with 3.3 million lines. DSL lines decreased by 101,288 lines in September with HFC growing by 23,409. Over the last 12 months FTTH has gained 1.6 million whereas DSL has lost 1.2 million.
Movistar also leads the fixed broadband market with a 41.7 per cent penetration, followed by Orange, 28.09 per cent and Vodafone 23.22 per cent.
