Analysis: Global pay-TV subs down, SVoD up

Pay-TV only subscribers are decreasing in the US, Europe and Australia according to Ampere Analysis. Amongst those taking subscription services, pay TV only subscribers continue to decline, while SVoD only subscribers increase. More than one third of those taking subscription services have both pay-TV and SVoD.
In all 11 countries stufes (Spain, Italy, France, Australia, UK, US, Denmark, Sweden, Netherlands, Germany and Poland) more than one in five subscribers combine pay-TV and SVoD subscriptions. Australia is the only country where SVoD only households make up the highest proportion of subscription services, although Italy is not far behind.
In the US nearly half of all subscriber households have pay TV and SVoD. In France almost half of all subscriber households are SVoD only
