Walking Dead ratings drop 33%
October 30, 2017
TV ratings behemoth The Walking Dead returned last week with the first episode of its eighth season, but fans did not return in the same droves they did for the Season 7 opener.
While the Season 7 premiere drew 8.4 million in the 18-39 key demographic and 17.03 million overall, the season 8 premiere drew 5 million and 11.4 million instead. That’s a 50 per cent drop in the demographic and a 33 per cent drop overall. That also means this is the least-watched season premiere of The Walking Dead since season 3 which had a 10.8 million debut.
Despite the drop in its ratings, The Walking Dead remains AMC’s most watched show by a considerable amount.
