According to a report in Qatar’s New Khalij newspaper, a sports reporter from beIN Sport had his microphone snatched away from him during a press conference with the UAE’s football coach Edgardo Bauza.
Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the UAE, amongst others, are involved in a bitter diplomatic dispute with Qatar which has already affected news channel Al Jazeera, and now seems to have spilled over into Qatar-based beIN Sport.
Reportedly, beIN Sport, despite having exclusive TV coverage rights to cover key football tournaments, was denied access to at least one game.
