HBO social media hacked
August 18, 2017
HBO’s spate of cyber breaches has continued as several of its Twitter accounts were hacked and taken over by the notorious OurMine group.
The hacking group took control of the main HBO Twitter account as well as those for TV shows including Game of Thrones, Veep and Girls, posting its now routine statement: “Hi, OurMine are here, we are just testing your security, HBO team please contact us to upgrade the security.”
The messages were removed within an hour of their appearance, with HBO seemingly taking back control of its accounts. An HBO spokesperson said the broadcaster was “investigating” the latest hack.
