YES/Spacecom probe halts Bezeq trading

Israel’s Securities Authority (ISA) on July 11th halted trading in shares in Bezeq Group as the ISA expanded to investigate the provision of satellite capacity agreements between DTH operator ‘YES’ and satellite operator Spacecom.
The ISA trading decision affects four Bezeq-related quoted companies (Bezeq itself, Spacecom, B Communications, and Internet Gold).
It is a matter of record that YES signed capacity agreements with Spacecom for broadcasting bandwidth until 2028.
Israel’s Globes newspaper says: “The agreement caused unease among Bezeq’s senior managers, who thought that use of satellites should be reduced as much as possible and that a switch should be made as early as possible to using Bezeq’s NGN network.”
