Saudi Arabia-based Arabsat is transmitting a FTA DTH bouquet using its BADR-4 satellite from its ‘hot spot’ at 26 degrees East.
The bouquet’s channels are all in HD, and include BBC World News HD, France 24 Arabic HD, TV5 Monde Style HD — “as well as other HD exclusive channels with the best Free-To-Air viewing experience available,” said Khalid Balkheyour, Arabsat President/CEO who noted that this service is especially significant and valuable for Arabsat’s worldwide top brands of satellite TV channels, which are delivered via a cost-effective transmission platform.
Arabsat’s bundle is being transmitted in DVB-S2 and because of BADR-4’s high-output beam are available on small dishes throughout the MENA area, and also covers Europe.
