From May 20th, Vodafone Spain will start charging new subscribers €3 a month to “rent” their set-top-box as it seeks to gain more finance for its TV rights investments.

Until now the STB was free of charge for all subscribers.

The current pay-TV subscribers, and those who subscribe before that date, will not have to pay the fee.
