April 26, 2017
Simplestream, a provider of video services for the media and entertainment industry, has announced it that its Cloud TV platform has been chosen by NWSL Media (a joint venture between the National Women’s Soccer League and A+E Networks) to deliver a multiscreen streaming service for America’s premier women’s soccer league.
At launch, the service, which was built in less than 12 weeks, is available for free to users internationally on the web. In addition to the international streaming services, NWSL matches are also streamed live inside the US on myLifetime.com, the popular online destination of the Lifetime network, with match replays available after 48 hours on the NWSL website and apps. Simplestream’s rights management module controls the availability of content, both live and on-demand, across territories.
“NWSL Media called upon Simplestream to help build great digital platforms for the National Women’s Soccer League’s passionate fan base,” says Evan Silverman – EVP, Digital Media, A+E Networks. “With their end-to-end OTT expertise, Simplestream delivered under intense time pressure, and we’re pleased to now have improved digital services and platforms to showcase the talented NWSL players.”
