TV licence fee to rise
March 2, 2017
The annual UK television licence fee will increase to £147 (€172) from £145.50 on April 1st this year, the government has confirmed. It will be the first time the fee has increased since 2010.
The government agreed last year that the fee would begin to rise again in return for the BBC taking on the cost of paying for free licences for the over-75s, and applying it to people who only use the iPlayer.
