DEN Networks, India’s giant MSO, is to launch UHD content for its cable subscribers.
Talking to Indiantelevision.com, DEN’s CEO SN Sharma said it was in an advanced planning stage to introduce new 4K-suitable set-top boxes over the next six months.
Sharma admitted that despite subscriber price sensitivity he was confident that enough high-end subscribers would adopt the new technology.
He added that India’s cable systems, now almost completely digitized also needed to keep pace with the country’s DTH operators, which were increasingly adopting the new technology.
