Spain: Telefónica to launch 4K STB
February 20, 2017
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Telefónica is launching a new 4K set-top-box to enable its Movistar Plus subscribers to watch 4K TV content, above all football and cinema. The device is set to launch within the next few weeks.
The move comes soon after its rival Vodafone Spain has announced the launch of a new set-top-box with TiVo and 4K technology integrated, manufactured by the French Sagemcom.
Additionally, Telefónica is extending its Ultimos 7 Días service (last 7 days service), currently available in its Movistar Premium Extra package, to all its subscribers allowing them to watch catch-up TV content from the last week.
